SYNOPSIS
Eight-year-old Pietro lives with a heavy grief: his father, held under the strict 41-bis prison regime, is not a criminal in his eyes, but Super Vito—a superhero fighting villains from the prison’s “secret lair.” Between supervised visits and stories made up by his mother to protect him, Pietro builds a world where his father is a vigilante, not an inmate. When Vito decides to cooperate with the law and become a state informant, Pietro’s imaginary universe collapses. The boy’s life is put in jeopardy by clan retaliation, but it is precisely then that Vito performs his ultimate act of love: sacrificing himself to save his son. In Pietro’s eyes, that sacrifice does not erase the hero; it makes him real, forever transforming the image of “Super Vito” into that of a father capable of choosing good.
