Arena Minerva
(Piazza Duomo)
Spacious and rectangular, it runs along the side of the cathedral, the heart and living room of the old town. The columns of the ancient temple of Athena, erected at the beginning of the 5th century BC, are visible in the wall. During the Festival, the square is transformed into a Film Arena equipped with the best projection facilities. It hosts the main sections of the Festival and meets with authors, actors, producers and the awards evening.
Arena Logoteta
(Largo Logoteta – Ortigia)
Built in the heart of the old Jewish quarter of the island of Ortigia: Giudecca. During the festival the area is pedestrianised and transformed into an Arena that hosts the main sections of the festival.
Meeting & Infopoint
(Via Mario Minniti 1, Ortigia)
Located opposite the Logoteta arena, its interior houses the festival offices and the information/marketing point, where the public votes on the films in competition. The exterior houses sponsor spaces and the Ortigia Film Festival bar, a meeting place for festival guests.
Area Marina Protetta del Plemmirio, Sala Ferruzza – Romano Syracuse
(Via Castello Maniace, 51) The Ferruzza-Romano Room is the conference room of the Plemmirio Consortium, inside the Maniace Castle complex. Every year it hosts the “La Voce del Mare” section and this year also some screenings of the OFF16 Schools section.
Odeon Arena
(Corso Garibaldi,95, Avola) The Arena Odeon in Avola is an emblematic venue located in the heart of the Sicilian town. This cultural space represents a perfect blend of history, tradition and modernity, offering a unique experience to residents and visitors alike.
Sdra-IN Avola
( Via Elsa Morante, 18, 96012 Avola SR) The Ortigia Film Festival’s “Sdra-IN” is back. It will feature an arena set up on the beach where the public will be able to follow the screenings comfortably seated on deckchairs. It will be set up in the seaside town of Avola where it will present the non-competitive Cinema & Art section, from 31 July to 2 August 2024.
