SYNOPSIS
Assunta is a prostitute who, once her little son Mattia has been removed from the brutal fury of a violent father, chooses to give him into foster care to allow him to have what she, momentarily, cannot give him. Through the protagonist’s point of view we will investigate the very delicate bond between mother/child/foster family, without ever losing sight of the child’s emotional priorities. By letting ourselves be carried away by her voice, we will find ourselves inside her reality; in the daily life of a village in timeless Sicily. We will walk along those streets alongside her, surprising ourselves to find within that story many other small stories full of prejudice and slander towards the village prostitute.
