SYNOPSIS
The documentary tells the story of the island of Marettimo and the epic story of its inhabitants, a community of a few hundred people who at the beginning of the last century embarked as stowaways on ships bound for the United States of America. Having arrived in California, in the Monterey Bay, they took full advantage of their knowledge of the sea and over the years started flourishing fishing-related businesses. And from there they set off a second time, this time headed towards Alaska, to go salmon fishing… The story of a great unknown Italian epic; a sentimental and historical novel created with images from the Archivio Luce Cinecittà and American archives.
