SYNOPSIS
In Aci Trezza, the Rodolico family has passed down the ancient art of wooden boatbuilding for five generations, carrying on the tradition that inspired the famous ‘Provvidenza’ in I Malavoglia. Today, Gianni is the family’s last remaining master shipwright. He continues to work with sacrifice and passion, supported by his father Salvatore—honored as a ‘Living Human Treasure’—while his brother Nuccio manages the business side. In an era dominated by fiberglass and modern materials, Gianni defends a craft he considers the most beautiful in the world, dreaming of passing it on to future generations.
