SYNOPSIS
Miriam (17) is a second-generation Egyptian girl. She lives with her mother and her little sisters in Milan, and like them she has a small cross tattooed on her wrist, the identifying mark of the Coptic Orthodox community. For Miriam that cross becomes more and more of a burden. She tries to escape from her responsibilities by seeking her own identity in her group of friends. A chance encounter with another Coptic teenager, makes Miriam realize her own condition of apnea about choices she fails to accomplish.The story aims to reflect the latent and silent discomfort of the protagonist. A small portrait of the everyday life of a girl trying to survive in a border area from which she is unable to escape.
