SYNOPSIS
It is November 1, 1975 in Rome and it is Pier Paolo Pasolini’s last day. His morning begins with his mother’s kiss. Susanna calls him out of sleep and finds him after a trip to Stockholm, where he has been working on the translation of the book, The Ashes of Gramsci. Harassed by the censors for Salò or the 120 days of Sodom, interviewed “on the situation” and for La Stampa by Furio Colombo and started “Petrolio”, a novel that chases two characters-narrators in his head (Carlo, an engineer from the Turin bourgeoisie, and Andrea Fago, the only survivor of a plane crash), Pier Paolo has breakfast with coffee and Corriere (della Sera). Later in the day he has lunch with Nico Naldini and Laura Betti, who has just lent the ‘demonic’ voice to Linda Blair (The Exorcist) and the orgiastic one to Hélène Surgère (Salò or the 120 Days of Sodom). Having said goodbye to the guests, he writes to Eduardo De Filippo about the Three Kings and the Messiah and slips into his Alfa Romeo and the Roman night, where he meets Nunzio, Epifanio’s guardian angel and a film that chases the comet but will never see the light of day (Porno-Teo-Kolossal). Because Pier Paolo will sink into the black eyes of Pino Pelosi and into the darkness of Ostia, mute before the massacre of a poet.
