SYNOPSIS
Arethusa: the myth becomes reality’ reinterprets the Greek myth of Arethusa, a nymph devoted to Artemis, restoring her power to choose her own destiny.
In the original tale, Arethusa is pursued by Alpheus and, in an attempt to escape, is transformed into a spring—only to be reached and joined by him against her will. This fashion film offers a different ending: Arethusa, aided by Artemis, is saved and no longer runs. She chooses to move forward on her path, strong and aware of who she has become. The film rewrites the myth’s conclusion to return power to its protagonist and, through her, to all women. A voiceover guides the narrative, while the costumes – crafted entirely from organic cotton – reflect Arethusa’s inner transformation and the film’s connection to nature, purity, and self-determination.
