Registrations for participation 12th edition of Ortigia Film Festival

The 12th edition of Ortigia Film Festival will be held from the 11th to the 18th July 2020, the international film festival in the city of Syracuse. The announcement, with regulations and entry form, is available on the website: www.ortigiafilmfestival.it where it is now possible to register films in the different sections of the Festival (or through the Filmfreeway platform).
The sections of the festival include:
Competitive
- Italian First and Second Feature Film Competition
- International Documentary Competition
- International Short Film Competition
Non-Competitive
- Cinema Women
- Cinema & Moda
The two non-competitive sections are confirmed: “Cinema Woman” dedicated to young directors on the international scene and Cinema in the union with another art that this year will be “Cinema & Moda”.
The 2019 edition included: 46 screenings, 31 guests who met with the public, 17 national premieres, 8 regional premieres, 22,000 spectators, confirming the festival’s commitment to promoting the audiovisual chain – with particular attention to the more independent forms that create new visions and experimental languages, especially in short films.
A jury of experts, nominated by the director and the board of directors, will award 4 prizes for the Italian feature film competition section, first and second films:
- Best Film OFF12 Award
- Best Actor Award OFF12
- Best Script Siae Award OFF12
The Audience Award for Best Film OFF12 has also been added to the above.
For the International Documentary Competition section:
The Festival Direction, in collaboration with the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia – Scuola Nazionale di Cinema – Sede Sicilia, will nominate a jury made up of students of the CSC Documentary Film Direction Course to award the following prizes:
- “Sebastiano Gesù” Award for Best Documentary OFF12
- Best Documentary Audience Award OFF12
The audience’s prize will be awarded following a vote by the audience present in the hall.
For the International Short Film Competition section, a jury of experts will award:
- Best Short Film Award OFF12
- Audience Award for Best Short Film OFF12
Juries may also award prizes and special mentions to the works in competition.
The portal Cinemaitaliano.info, in collaboration with Ortigia Film Festival, awards 2 prizes to the Film and to the interpreter of the year “Veramente Indipendente”. The deadline to send the works is set for May 10th, 2020.
